My second easter, and my first birthday party
&mdash Cool - I'm not even a year old, but I've celebrated Easter twice already! Although I was only 4 days old last time around. This year Grandma and Grandpa Gatley organized my family birthday party on Easter Sunday at their house. It was fun. I got to eat cake. |

&mdash I started today at my daycare, Jolly Jumbuck. I like it there so far. Moya's really nice, and so are the three other kids. I'll be going there three days a week starting March 26, when mom goes back to work. |

First airline travel and first trip to 'back east'
&mdash Mom and I flew to Toronto to meet up with Dad, who was there for a library conference. We spent 6 days in the Big Smoke and then I went on my first Via Rail train ride to Ottawa to visit with my friend Finn. I managed to do very well on the plane ride, mom says. |

First New Year's Eve, and first time on a magical farm
&mdash Spent a wonderful New Year's Eve with mom and dad, and Justin and Veda, on the Caravan Farm Theatre in Armstrong, BC. I enjoyed a cold ride on a horse-drawn carriage through snowy fields as I was snuggled up against mom's chest in my sling. I tried to sleep up in the loft of the designery as the revellers rung in the New Year around the blazing bonfire below. It was all too exciting. |

First Christmas
&mdash I made it through Christmas. In my family, it's a long onslaught of celebrations that begin December 24 and end sometime around the 28th. I enjoyed meeting my extended family and spending time with Aunt Crystal and Uncle Derek who I don't get to visit with too much. And yes, I was spoiled by my lovely family and friends. I especially liked all the shiny paper and ribbons. I'll put that on my list for next year. |

&mdash In case you're wondering what to feed me for Christmas, here are my food preferences at 8 months: breastmilk, baby cereal, pear, apple, banana, kiwi, peach, blueberry, apricot, plum, yam, sweet potato, squash, parsnip (my folks call it "Super Apple" to trick me into eating it), green bean, peas, carrot and kale. |

&mdash I watched the game on Auntie Lenny and Uncle Wally's front porch. When Italy won, we heard the cheers erupt from Commercial Drive, and then trudged up there to celebrate. I learned the word "head-butt". A strange word, if you ask me. |

Only 15 years, 10 months until I can drive. 17 years, 10 months until I can vote. 18 years, 10 months until I can drink. 54 years, 10 months until I can retire (well, it'll probably be 74 years, 10 months by the time I'm retirement age). Wow - so many milestones yet to come. |

1 month old
&mdash I turned one month old today. In looking back on my life so far, I feel that I have accomplished much, but that there is still much more to do. In particular I look forward to the many more halcyon hours of suckling that lie ahead. I also plan to leave no stone unturned in my quest to find new ways to awe, amaze, vex and inspire goo-goo faces in my parents. |

&mdash In case anyone's wondering - I love to eat! And it shows. Mom took me to the midwives today, and I weigh in at 10 Lbs 12 Ozs (4.89 Kg) - almost two pounds over my birth weight. |

Discharged from Maternity
&mdash They discharged me and mom from the maternity ward today. Four days after being born I weigh 8 lbs, 9.5 ozs (3.89 Kg). |
