New Years Eve 2008 and the Dawn of 2009
After our White Christmas, we proceeded to Charlie and Emery's first ever White New Years Eve. Charlie's godparents Justin and Veda invited everyone over to their place for a backyard New Years Eve 'pre-party.' Bryn, who lives upstairs from them and is a baker, made fresh bread in his handbuilt wood burning oven. As you can imagine, it really doesn't get better than that. And then we charged on into the new year of 2009. Our first full year as a family of four.
Here you can see the children enjoying the New Year's Eve festivities, and you can just make out the brick oven in the background (and you thought I was making that part up).
Charlie having a New Year's Eve tipple. Of milk! (I swear - although that cup does make it look like he's drinking a beer at a kegger)
The 4th was Charlie's friend Etienne's birthday party. Here Charlie enjoys that perennial lo-fi children's toy, the balloon
Emery - Future Librarian. Unbelievably, he has two of these shirts. I gave him a larger one, and a friend of Anita's, entirely coincidentally, gave him the one he's wearing here.
Emery - I think he looks like some sort of depression era figure here, or a little Tyrolean munchkin.
Charlie and Emery - two chefs gazing fondly at each other. Like Feenie and that guy from White Spot must do.
Charlie's taken to spelling things on the fridge. This was taken the day of his friend Madeleine's birthday, so that's what he wanted to spell. And before anyone freaks out - dad helped with the spelling.
